FLORENCE, Ala. - The University of North Alabama Department of History will host a breakfast with Dr. Fred Gray, Sept. 9 at 7:30 a.m. The Department of History worked in conjunction with the UNA Office of the President and the Office of Diversity and Institutional Equity to host the event, which will take place in the Guillot University Center on campus.
Gray is a civil rights attorney, preacher and activist who practices law in Alabama. His past experiences include the litigation of several major civil rights cases in Alabama, including some that reached the United States Supreme Court. His clients have included Rosa Parks and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Gray also served as the President of the National Bar Association in 1985. In 2001, Gray was elected as the first African-American president of the Alabama State Bar.
Tickets for this breakfast are $25 per person, or $250 per table (including eight tickets and acknowledgement of sponsorship).
